Age and Sex Distribution in the Philippine Population (2024 Census of Population)
[Overview]
The 2024 Census of Population (POPCEN) showed that the household population of the Philippines reached 112.33 million persons. This release presents its age and sex distribution.
Of the 112.33 million household population in 2024, 56.68 million (50.5%) were males and 55.65 million (49.5%) were females. By age group, 29.98 million (26.7%) were under 15 years of age (young dependents). Meanwhile, persons aged 15 to 64 years (working-age population) totaled to 74.95 million (66.7%), while those aged 65 years and over (old dependents) comprised the remaining 7.40 million (6.6%). In 2020, persons aged 0 to 14 years, 15 to 64 years, and 65 years and over accounted for 30.7 percent, 63.9 percent, and 5.4 percent, respectively, of the household population.
