Dear ANCSDAAP members,

Greetings.
Statistics Bureau of Japan is pleased to invite you to the 31st Population Census Conference to be held from November 29 to December 1, 2022, in Tokyo, Japan, 

which is hosted by the Statistics Bureau of Japan and sponsored by the Association of National Census and Statistics Directors of America, Asia and Pacific (ANCSDAAP), 

in collaboration with the Statistics Korea which provides secretariat service to ANCSDAAP.

Statistics Bureau of Japan would like to inform all of you about the boarder measures related to COVID-19,

for smooth and safe immigration since the conference is schedule to be held by face-to-face meeting only.

The immigration restrictions of Japan related COVID-19 has been eased by June 1.
However, unfortunately some of member countries need to get ready before the travel, including get designated triple vaccination doses.

As of now, after June 1, Japanese government classifies all countries and region into three categories (red, yellow, blue).
For all members, PCR test which is 72 hours prior to the departure time of your flight towards Japan is required.
- For "Blue countries/regions", no vaccination certification, arrival PCR test and quarantine are required.
- For "Yellow countries/regions", certification of triple designated vaccination* is required to avoid arrival PCR test and quarantine.
- For "Red countries/regions", arrival PCR test and quarantine are required even if you got triple vaccination doses.

Please check in which category your country is classified.
Especially members from "yellow" category, please check the number of doses and type of vaccination you got, to get a necessary certification to enter into Japan without the arrival PCR test and quarantine.

Unfortunately, the members from "red" category are required to be quarantine so far, however, the regulation is changeable time to time.
